HOLLAND — After a year of modest growth, Haworth Inc. today reported annual sales of $1.94 billion for 2016.
Sales for the Holland-based furniture company grew 6.6 percent last year, according to a statement.
That compares to the 1.3 percent growth it experienced in 2015, when the company had sales of $1.82 billion.
“Haworth is adapting to today’s changing world by creating solutions for people at work, at home and on the go,” Haworth President and CEO Franco Bianchi said in a statement. ““Our commercial interiors, lifestyle designs and performance technology businesses have strong foundations and continue to position Haworth for strong shareholder return.”
The family-owned Haworth publicly reports annual sales, but does not disclose earnings.
Among the company’s accomplishments last year, Bianchi cited a refresh of Haworth’s global headquarters in Holland to create a “living laboratory experience,” the WELL building certification at its Shanghai showroom and the launches of the Fern chair and Immense table. He also highlighted the company’s acquisition of JANUS et Cie, a Los Angeles-based luxury outdoor furniture manufacturer.
Haworth employs 6,500 employees globally and serves more than 120 countries.
