CASCADE TOWNSHIP — Dialog Direct Inc. plans to shutter its Grand Rapids-area facility and lay off 106 employees by Oct. 17, according to documents filed with the state.
The Highland Park-based call center operator established the Grand Rapids facility in 2014 with a $1.5 million investment, according to a previous MiBiz report. The company also received a $550,000 performance-based Business Development Program grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. to help with the expansion.
The Right Place helped lead the company’s expansion into the greater Grand Rapids area with a facility at 2905 Lucerne Drive SE in Cascade Township.
“I can confirm that the company has not reached out to us as of yet for assistance,” said Tim Mroz, vice president of marketing and communications at The Right Place Inc. “We are making multiple attempts to contact the company to provide whatever services we can at this point.”
Dialog Direct, formerly branded as Novo 1 Inc., also operates a facility in Holland where it employs roughly 500 workers, according to reports. The company opened its Holland facility in 2010.
Dialog Direct did not return a request for comment at the times this story went to press.
