LeanLogistics acquired by U.K.-based Kewill Inc.

Kewill Inc., a global provider of supply-chain software, is acquiring Holland-based LeanLogistics from Australian-based Brambles Ltd.

LeanLogistics’ cloud-based platform supports shippers across the U.S. and Europe, managing a network of 14,000 carriers. Terms of the deal with U.K.-based Kewill were not disclosed.

“Our tenure with Brambles has provided us the opportunity to invest in our solution, expand into different countries, and has been a tremendous learning experience, but as we strive to deliver value for our customers every day, there is power in combining with a global supply chain execution company,” Dan Dershem, president and CEO of LeanLogistics said in a statement. “The global transportation market is ready for a clear leader.”

Kewill supports supply chains for 7,500 companies in more than 100 countries. The Holland office for LeanLogistics will become the largest for Kewill under the purchase agreement announced Tuesday.

“We see an exciting culture and talent pool in, and around, Holland, Michigan and view the team as a critical part of the combined organization,” said Kewill CEO Doug Braun. “We fully intend to build around this office and leadership team in the coming months. We respect the LeanLogistics team’s ability to drive the business forward, and will look for ways to be supportive of its existing initiatives. We strongly believe we can accelerate the success LeanLogistics has been experiencing.”
