The development arm of Grand Rapids-based general contracting firm Orion Construction Co. Inc. plans to build a new hotel in the southwest corner of Kent County.
A local developer has scrapped plans for multifamily housing at a proposed twin-tower downtown Grand Rapids development to pursue a hotel tenant instead, MiBiz has learned.

• M&A: Blue Wolf Capital Partners LLC, a New York-based private equity firm, has acquired the North American operations of New Zealand-based Tenon Limited. The company will be based in Grand Rapids and operate under a new name, Novo Building Products LLC. Novo is a manufacturer and distributor of speciality building products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Citing decisions to restructure leasing and make tenant improvements on their own, the owners of a major Grand Rapids development today asked the state for administrative approval to amend its loan agreement.
