Grand Rapids-based financial technology company Acrisure acquired a customizable business insurance firm.

Acrisure said Monday, Sept. 19, it acquired B2Z, a digital company that allows business owners to customize their insurance coverage. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Acrisure is building a robust digital marketplace that makes it simple to transact across all of our lines of business,” Acrisure co-founder and CEO Greg Williams said. “In that regard, B2Z is a tremendous fit as a leader in providing customized solutions to small businesses. I’m proud to welcome (CEO and founder Kuldeep Malik) and the B2Z team to Acrisure.”

Malik founded the Schaumburg, Illinois-based B2Z during the COVID-19 pandemic to help small business owners save time. The company uses third-party data and analytics to help the customers answer application questions during the insurance application process.

B2Z complements Acrisure’s digital partnership with QuickInsured, a platform that offers personal insurance policies.

Acrisure continues to build out its portfolio of insurance solutions to better serve clients, according to the release.

“We’re proud to help extend Acrisure’s unmatched relationships and technology capabilities,” Malik said. “B2Z looks forward to joining Acrisure’s culture of collaboration and trust.”

Acrisure in the past eight years has grown its revenue from $38 million to nearly $4 billion. It is now a top-10 global insurance broker.

The company also is gaining notability this fall through the naming rights it won this summer for Acrisure Stadium, formerly Heinz Field, the home of NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers.
