Perrigo hires Raj Thota

ALLEGAN — Perrigo, a leading pharmaceutical supplier, announced that Raj Thota has been hired as associate director of process development and technology for the Consumer Health Care (CHC) Formulation Research and Development department.

Thota will be managing two process development and technology groups, and as part of the CHC Formulation R&D leadership team, will be collaborating with Perrigo’s product development and analytical development groups in Michigan, New Jersey and India.

Thota brings to Perrigo 18 years of experience in fomulation and process development, scale-up, techlogy tranfer and commercialization along with 10 years of management experience.

Thota earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Kakatiya University, Andhra Pradesh, India.  He received a Master of Science in Pharmaceutics from Banaras Hindu University, Uttar Pradesh, India. Thota also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Thota lives in Kalamazoo.

Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI)

The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) is a monthly estimate by major industry of manufacturing output in the Seventh Federal Reserve District states of lllinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin. It is a composite index of 15 manufacturing industries that uses electrical power and hours worked data to measure monthly changes in regional activity.

About the CFMMI
The CFMMI provides a regional comparison with the manufacturing component of the Industrial Production Index (IPMFG) compiled by the Federal Reserve Board. Although the IPMFG is constructed differently than the CFMMI, it also uses electrical power and hours worked data as measures of industry output for about 60 percent of its total production index.
