Ellen Smith hired at Perrigo

ALLEGAN — Perrigo, a leading pharmaceutical supplier, announced today that Ellen Smith has been hired as senior talent acquisition consultant with the Human Resources department.   In this role, Smith is responsible for recruitment, administering immigration processes and collaborating with Perrigo’s talent development and compensation teams.

Smith returns to Perrigo where she previously spent 14 years in Human Resources and brings considerable human resources experience gained in HR leadership roles at other West Michigan companies.

Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Sociology from Hope College and has remained active in business and charitable organizations and community events in West Michigan.

Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI)

The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) is a monthly estimate by major industry of manufacturing output in the Seventh Federal Reserve District states of lllinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin. It is a composite index of 15 manufacturing industries that uses electrical power and hours worked data to measure monthly changes in regional activity.

About the CFMMI
The CFMMI provides a regional comparison with the manufacturing component of the Industrial Production Index (IPMFG) compiled by the Federal Reserve Board. Although the IPMFG is constructed differently than the CFMMI, it also uses electrical power and hours worked data as measures of industry output for about 60 percent of its total production index.
