Luke Ridout joins the Literacy Center of West Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS — The Literacy Center of West Michigan welcomed Luke Ridout as the new program assistant for the Customized Workplace English Program. Luke will assist the program in providing exceptional English language training programs to West Michigan companies.

“We are glad to have Luke join our CWE program,” said Literacy Center of West Michigan Executive Director Susan K. Ledy. “With Luke’s educational background and experience working with English learners abroad, we will continue to meet the educational needs of our diversifying workforce.”

Luke is a graduate of Calvin College with a bachelor’s degree in English, a bachelor’s degree in Dutch language and culture, and minors in TESOL and Japanese language.  With a specialty in applied linguistics, Luke has experience working with English learners in the United States and abroad.

The Literacy Center’s Customized Workplace English Program provides English as a Second Language and literacy training programs to West Michigan businesses and organizations with the purpose of improving internal communications and productivity.  The Literacy Center conducts a needs assessment and customizes a program that addresses their employee’s language needs, with a focus on safety and quality.
