Grand Rapids, Mich., December 1, 2011 – Rockford Construction announced today that Pride Builders Group is now fully owned by one of its founding partners, Terrell Daniels of MFSS Contracting.
Pride Builders Group was created in 2008 as a joint venture between Daniels and Mike VanGessel of Rockford Construction. The company was formed as a mentor/protégé partnership to offer construction services. “I am proud of the mentorship we were able to provide, along with assistance in growing Pride’s expertise in serving its clients,” said VanGessel.
Daniels purchased VanGessel’s shares of the company and now stands as sole Owner. “The time is right to become independent. It’s been three strong years, and I appreciate Rockford’s expertise and investment,” said Daniels.
Pride Builders Group as a strong, stand-alone company is advantageous for both parent companies. “It gives us both new, better opportunities. We will continue to partner with Pride as a joint venture on projects around the Midwest. It’s a great partnership,” said VanGessel. The joint venture was originally formed as part of Rockford Construction’s continuing strategy to support Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) and small businesses in Michigan.
