GRAND RAPIDS — HarperCollins Publishers Worldwide today announced the appointment of Scott Macdonald as President and CEO of Zondervan, the world’s leading Bible publisher. Macdonald was appointed Interim President of Zondervan in March 2011.
“Scott brings more than 30 years of experience and business leadership to this role,” said Brian Murray, President and CEO of HarperCollins. “His extensive experience in the Christian retail market as well as sales, operations and management, coupled with his steady demeanor and his strong faith make him the ideal leader for Zondervan.”
Macdonald joined Zondervan’s business unit The City in December 2010 as Acting General Manager. His experience includes serving as the President of Lemstone Christian Stores, a franchisor of Christian stores with 35 locations in 16 states. He has also held several senior level leadership positions at a variety of technology companies.
“I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve in this role and lead the talented team at Zondervan as we work together to continue to honor our mission,” said Macdonald. “I have long held Zondervan in high regard and my time as interim president over the past two months has affirmed my belief that this is a great company to be part of.”
