Miller College has experienced tremendous growth the past two years. Student enrollment has increased 28 percent because of the quality of the accredited educational programs.
Yet executives in the region have indicated a need for college graduates who have outstanding interpersonal, presentation and writing skills.
Miller College is meeting this industry need by emphasizing these skills in every course taught at the college. Students have the opportunity to network with executives in the college’s Community Leadership Center and also work closely with both for-profit and nonprofit clients on important strategic initiatives furthering the development of these critical skills.
Miller College is connected to the needs of the local economy. As the senior care market continues to grow, the college has partnered with many senior care organizations to launch an innovative Management of Aging Services concentration in the School of Business. This program is taught by executive practitioners with years of industry experience.
Continuing to address local need, Miller College, in partnership with the Center for Entrepreneurship and its 14 partners, is creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. A new entrepreneurship concentration in the Miller College School of Business is assisting with this effort.
Our local health care partners are also creating strategies to recruit and retain outstanding health professionals. Miller College offers a CCNE-accredited RN-to-BSN nursing program, making it convenient for nurses to obtain their bachelor’s degree.
The college also offers an innovative nurse applicant program to students waiting to get accepted into an associate degree program in nursing (ADN). This unique program affords waitlisted ADN students an opportunity to complete general education courses toward the Miller College Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The nurse applicant program therefore saves students significant time and money. The college also offers a health administration concentration in the School of Business.
Finally, in these challenging times, it is critical for colleges to provide access to higher education. Next summer, Miller College is launching a “Weekend College” to provide students with the opportunity to complete their bachelor’s degree in an intensive Saturday format. These courses will be taught by practitioners with years of experience in their respective fields.
Weekend college courses will be five weeks in duration, and students will have the opportunity to complete the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Applied Science in Management or a Bachelor of Applied Science in General Studies by attending college once a week. Scholarships and other financial aid are available for the Weekend College and all other programs offered at Miller College.
The college is also proud to be designated as a “Military Friendly School.”
