Community Media Group of West Frankfort, Ill. on Jan. 2 announced it was purchasing the assets of Shoreline Media Inc., the publishers of the Ludington Daily News, Oceana’s Herald-Journal and White Lake Beacon newspapers, the LDN reported. CMG did not disclose the terms of the deal. Shoreline Media owner David Jackson, whose family has owned the Ludington Daily News since 1986, is retiring. He told the Daily News that he sold to CMG because of its commitment to producing quality, printed, community newspapers.
