The Michigan Economic Development Corp. in early December unveiled Michigan Talent Connect, the state’s new web-based talent matchmaking site.
Designed as a “central hub” for talent, companies and educators, the www.mitalent.org website offers businesses a chance to identify in-state talent. It also gives job seekers the option to create a personalized plan to help them find new jobs and effectively navigate career searches.
The state reported some 80,000 jobs were featured on the site at the launch. After the launch, the MEDC plans to enhance some features of the website, including streamlining existing career and job content from a range of government and private websites and introducing a “Career Matchmaker” tool and “Career Investment Calculator” for job seekers.
The MEDC is encouraging Michigan employers to post job openings on the site and to make a pledge to use and promote the portal.
