Public relations and investor relations firm Lambert Edwards & Associates Inc. acquired Atlanta-based IR Squared, an investor relations company.
The Nov. 1 addition of IR Squared allows LE&A to add investor relations experience in large and mega cap companies to its focus on small to medium cap companies.
IR Squared’s founder, Robert Burton, ran internal investor relations at Kmart and Home Depot before starting his own firm. Burton, a former journalist, will now head LE&A’s financial communication practice. He will remain in Atlanta.
The acquisition was internally financed with support from Mercantile Bank. Barnes & Thornburg LLP served as legal counsel.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Jeff Lambert, president and managing partner of LE&A, said IR Squared was smaller in comparison to LE&A, which had $6 million in revenue.
Lambert said the attraction to IR Squared was its depth of clients and the expertise Burton brought to the table. This was LE&A’s fourth acquisition in six years.
“We’re continuing to look at acquisitions. We’d like to find another in investor relations,” Lambert said.
The facility home to H&S Companies CPAs and Business Consultants, HS&C Wealth Management, The White Insurance Agency and Blakeslee Rop PLC has been renamed The Rockford Business Complex. The complex, located at 240 Northland Drive NE in Rockford, installed new signage marking the name change.
