At the helm of The Right Place, Klohs — a native of Germany — helps attract, grow and keep companies in West Michigan. Since March, Klohs has served on the Advisory Council on Agriculture, Small Business and Labor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
“We expect 2012 to be a year of continued steady economic growth in several sectors throughout the region. Life sciences, business services, smart manufacturing and agribusiness are all growing and are expected to continue that trend in 2012. However, this is all bracketed with one big asterisk: the future of the European economy and the U.S. budget challenges. Optimistically, current and future international concerns over the economic stability of European countries may open new opportunities for foreign direct investment in West Michigan. Nationally, the competition for business and talent will continue to increase. Thus, it’s critical that we have a strong state and local set of business tools to both retain and attract the best businesses and talent in West Michigan.”
