Founded in 1988 by its editor/publisher, William R. Lowry, MiBiz serves 18 counties in Western Michigan, providing a regional perspective on business and industry. Each issue delivers a unique format covering eight industry sectors that unveil critical trends and key economic developments reflecting the vital interests of today's West Michigan business community. In June 2002 the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) awarded MiBiz® Editor and Publisher William R. Lowry with two SBA awards: Michigan Small Business Journalist of the Year and Midwest Regional Small Business Journalist of the Year.
